Ski Shell Jacket

Ski Bibs

Reversible Vest

This quilted, reversible vest is insulated with kapok - a tropical plant that has seed pods filled with a downy fiber. These pods fall off the tree each year, creating a renewable insulation. Kapok has natural oils on it that make it water resistant. Historically, it was used to fill life vests and today it can still be found as a stuffing for furniture.

Details for increased repairability:

  • Center front zipper - sandwiched between grosgrain instead of sewn directly into vest fabric. This allows the zipper to be replaced without opening up seams that incase the insulation.

  • The smaller quilted squares create a grid for easier patching. If there is a tear in the fabric a patch can be created that covers an entire square and then in can be sewn on through the existing quilting. No pinch patch required.

  • The vest is simple with no elastic drawcord or pockets, making it easier to access seams and decreasing higher wear areas. I would like figure out pockets that still allowed the vest to be reversed while also being easy to remove incase a repair was necessary.

TEMPEST

F/W 2026

Ski layers that are designed specifically for women to support them in their outdoor pursuits. This collection is built on research, asking for feedback from customers and using design to make them feel validated. Tempest focuses on making garments that fit well in order to inspire people to keep these garments for as long as possible. To further this goal, each garment has a custom print, giving customers directions on how to care and repair their clothing.

These ski bibs are designed to fit around muscular quads and glutes, not restricting motion like bending down to tighten a boot buckle or removing climbing skins. They are also made to make mid adventure bathroom breaks easier - unzipping from the waist down just above the knee on both sides. The suspenders are attached to the front panel so the entire seat flap can be opened. Finally, they are also made to make alterations and repair easier. The seams around the lower legs are places where fabric could be added or taken in and the cordura snow cuffs extend all the way around the leg, eliminating the more delicate 3L fabric from a high abrasion area.

Details:

  • Stretch panel across lower back for additional ease of movement

  • Large zipper cargo pockets to store phones, beacons, or snacks. Both have a grosgrain loop to secure a beacon

  • Elastic straps with G hooks

  • Side seam zippers are 2-way for ventilation

The neck, hems, and cuffs are finished with a 2 needle bottom overstitch. This construction allows the seams to stretch with the fabric, making movement easy and comfortable.
